Craziness!!!

Hey everyone,

So its been kinda crazy around my house lately.  First off Im trying to balance like 5 different jobs because I'm working as much as possible trying to save money for China.  Trying to learn guitar!!  Along with that my new nephew Jacob was born about three weeks ago and Im flying to Texas in two weeks to visit him.  Two days after I get back from Texas I am leaving for Raleigh/Nashville where I will be visiting with friends and then working at a Shoahannah's Hope banquet/fundraiser.  Then the Holidays will be around the corner. My other nephew Parker ( 8 1/2 months) and my brother and sister-in-law live here, which is a ton of fun, but still kind of hectic. :)  And on top of all that I am fundraising for China, which feels like it is coming very quick, only  3 months away!!!

Phew, I think thats just about everything that is and will be going on within the next couple months!!!!

Away from all the busyness though, this past couple weeks has truly been an emotional roller-coaster as I have been dealing/struggling with happy, sad, excited, scared, and overwhelming issues and emotions dealing with my move to China.  And in my weakness He has been strong and He has  continued to open doors leading me to continue my journey down this path.  Again thanks to everyone who has and continues to support and pray for us as we prepare to make this move.

Through Him,

JHart

Peace out!!

*Fundraising Update

I have received over 5,000 dollars in checks and/or monthly commitments so far!!!
However due to certain expenses that have recently increased I still need about 28 monthly supporters of $25 dollars a month and/or about $8,500!!!

I Corinthians 12: 9-10 ESV

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then,  I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Hey everyone,

Well this is going to be short and sweet because quite frankly, I'm exhausted!!  Well anyways I wanted to let all of you know that I received my first response from my support letter.  I was really excited about this because It gave me some encouragement that things are heading in the right direction.  Im going to ask all of you to lift my team up in prayer as preparing to make this transition seems to be harder than we expected emotionally, spiritually, and mentally!  Thank you for everything!!

Dear family and friends,

As you may already know I recently had the opportunity to spend two weeks serving and playing with orphans in China.  It was a life changing experience and I want to thank all of you who had a hand in supporting me.  While in China I began to feel a desire and a calling to care for these children on a more long-term basis.  The Lord has continued to open doors, guiding me to make the decision to return to China this coming February.  And so, I want to take this opportunity to once again ask you for your support.

I have been given the opportunity to work through a new ministry, The China Home Foundation, with three former team members from my summer trip, Mikey, Michael, and Chrissy; we will be working at a government orphanage in the city of Luoyang, which is located in the Hennan province approximately 416 miles south southwest of Beijing.  The government has given us the fifth story of the orphanage to convert into a life skills center for orphans ages 8-18.

I will be living with my roommate Chrissy in a small two-bedroom apartment within walking distance of the orphanage.  Throughout the week, after school, and on weekends we will provide the children with a number of activities: crafts; homework help; English, computer and cooking classes; a book and a game center; and many others. While the children are at school, Chrissy and I will be in charge of communicating with potential adoptive parents, finding sponsors for the children, and putting together a pen-pal program.  We will also take language classes three to five times a week to help us better communicate with the children.

To make all of these efforts possible, I will need to raise $12,000 for the year, which will help pay for plane tickets, health insurance, housing, food, personal expenses, transportation, and language classes.  If you feel led to support me please check one or more of the following options and return the bottom of this letter to the address on the envelope. Due to the newness of this ministry we are not able to raise support through this organization.  Therefore all donations will not be tax-deductible.

I ask that you please continue to pray for our team, The China Home Foundation, the children, the director of the orphanage, and all involved in this new ministry as we strive to serve the Lord by caring for orphans in China. If you would like to receive further information please feel free to e-mail me at juleehartmeyer@hotmail.com.  I also encourage you to provide your e-mail address in the space provided; I would love to keep you posted with new information, financial support, and personal updates leading up to and during my time in China.

Fundraising!

Hey everyone,

Well the time has come to start raising support!! Ill start by explaining what exactly is going to be happening.

I am moving to China this coming February to work with orphans. Me and my three former teamates from my previous trip to China are going to be running and working a life skills/ development center on the fifth story of a government orphanage. We will be offering them cooking, English, art, music and various other classes and activities that will help prepare them for their future. I will be living in a two bedroom apartment with my partner and friend Chrissy. While the kids are at school we will be taking mandarin language classes, corresponding with potential adoptive parents and putting together a pen-pal sponsorship program! As you can see we will be very busy!! In order to make this possible I am going to need to raise 12,000 which will pay for plane tickets, food, health insurance, personal expenses, language classes, transportation, etc. We will be working with a new ministry, The China Home Foundation. Unfortunately due to the newness of this ministry we will be unable to raise funds through them, meaning donations will not be tax deductible. If you are interested in further information or would like to donate please e-mail me at juleehartmeyer@hotmail.com. I ask that you would continue to pray for our team, the children, and all who will be involved in this ministry. Thank you for your support
